David Silva injuries Problem Continues
David Silva’s struggles with injuries continued after Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that the Spaniard will miss the next two or three weeks due to the latest injury.
Silva had to go from the 0-0 draw at Real Madrid a week ago due to a hamstring problem. The diagnosis has revealed a much more serious injury that will see the player spend more time on the sidelines. Silva is regarded as an influential player in the City squad ever since he came from Valencia in 2010. However, the last 24 months has been a period of trouble for the Spaniard.
Silva has gone from making more than 45 games per season consistently into featuring in less than 30 games of late. His latest injury problems will not help them rediscover his form. The 2015-16 season will be regarded as the best in his career. Silva finished with a tally of 12 goals from just 42 games. Known for his assisting rather than scoring, this was only the second time Silva had entered into double figures for the campaign. Just when it seemed that the Spaniard would improve on this achievement, the numerous injuries have prevented him from making almost any impact in the current campaign.
He is sure to miss the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Real Madrid. "David Silva has a small hamstring injury so he will not be fit for this week. He needs two to three weeks to recover. He will play in the final - that is the target! Yaya Toure starts working today. We'll see if he's fit on Wednesday. In this moment we don't know, but he has some options. The best way to make a good game on Wednesday is to win on Sunday and have trust in the performance of different players,” said Pellegrini.
