100 CLUB
Manchester City got past the 100 goals mark in all competitions in just 34 matches, which was achieved as they defeated Cardiff City with a comfortable 4-2 scoreboard. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are going through a superb form as they keep on pressuring the table toppers Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with 1 point being the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
Pellegrini even said that Manchester City’s form is so good that they are candidates on winning all the titles of this season as the head coach insisted in saying that claiming 4 trohpies this season is just within their reach.
"We are in a very good moment and the confidence of the whole team is very high," Pellegrini said "The team is a candidate to win all the titles, but we are still far. It's not easy to score 100, 103 goals by the middle of the season. It reflects what we think about how this team must play. The players feel comfortable in what we are doing, always an attractive team, always have chances to score a lot of goals."
The star studded attacking department of Manchester City has seen them scoring 63 goals so far in this season of the Premier League making them the club with most goals scored.
During Manchester City’s match against Cardiff City, Edin Dzeko was the 1st to find the back of the net after just 14 minutes but their opponents responded with Craig Noone as he equalized 15 minutes later but Jesus Navas restored the lead back to Manchester City as they went into the halftime break with the minimum lead.
When both teams came out of their respective dressing rooms to play the remaining 45 minutes of the match, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero extended the lead of City to 3 goals and even with a late goal of Cardiff City’s Fraizer Campbell, Manchester City came out of the Etihad Stadium with a fairly simple and comfortable 4-2 final scoreboard and they still remain undefeated when playing on their home turf.
