David Silva
David Silva is a professional footballer who currently plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for the Spanish national team as well as Premier League giants Manchester City.
His passing, vision and his ability on the ball playing either as a midfielder or sometimes as a second striker has earned the Spaniard many plaudits and has been described by many pundits as the best playmaker in the Premier League by far and was considered as the main reason Manchester City won the league title in 2012.
Silva spent three years at the youth levels with Spanish giants Valencia between 2000 and 2003, after which, he was drafted into the Valencia B side that played in the second tier of Spanish football to bleed him into first team football. This spell proved to be extremely successful and he went on to make his debut for the Valencia first team, going on to play six seasons for the club.
David Silva spent some time on loan from the club at Celta Vigo and Eibar but he quickly established himself as one of the key players in the side and his partnership with David Villa brought a lot of goals and helped the club to qualify for the UEFA Champions League on a regular basis. However, the cash strapped club failed to hold on to many of its key players and in order to sustain itself, had to part with the likes of Villa and Silva, for whom, newly rich Manchester City paid a whopping transfer fee as they beat off competition from Real Madrid to bring the player to England.
He has gone on to win the FA Cup and the Premier League with Manchester City and David Silva was also a part of the golden generation of Spain that won two EUROs and the World Cup.
