David Silva announced as Player of the Month for MC
David Silva is Manchester City’s player of the month of February as the Spanish midfielder has racked up 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 matches.
The total amount of goals that Silva has collected so far in this season is 10 which may not sound like a very high number but it’s a milestone for the former Valencia player as he had never scored 10 goals in a single season in any of his previous clubs.
The 29 year old midfielder is usually the assister in all of his teams and this is why his goal-scoring record is usually low but his output of goals has been increasing recently with Manchester City and this is what the Premier League club wants to see as the English side needs all the help they can get in order to catch up to the table toppers Chelsea.
Manchester City is competing in the Champions League as they faced off with Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium on February 24 which concluded in a 1-2 defeat for the English outfit but before the match had even started, Sergio Busquets praised David Silva as he is the main creative man of Manchester City in the midfield of the team.
"Cityis creative and dangerous, especially when the ball reaches David Silva. He’s the player, with freedom of movement and his final ball," Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets told the media.
Even though Barcelona has a slight advantage over Manchester City, the English side still has a chance of advancing into the next rounds of the European competition as both teams have to face off in the 2nd leg on March 18 at Camp Nou and David Silva will have to be at his best in order to keep this dream alive.
