EUROPA LEAGUE: SILVA MISSES MONACO DRAW

Spanish playmaker David Silva was not in the Real Sociedad squad for the Europa League group stage clash with French side AS Monaco. David Silva missed the Group B clash with Monaco due to a muscle injury.
Without Silva, Real Sociedad were unable to beat AS Monaco and they had to settle for a draw. AS Monaco took the lead through young defender Axel Disasiin the first half. Disasi scored the first goal of the season on 16 minutes off the assist from SofianeDiop. His goal gave Monaco a first half lead but the French Ligue 1 giants failed to hold on to that advantageuntil the end of the game thanks to the second half strike from ex-Newcastle United midfielder Mikel Merino.
Belgian international winger Adnan Januzajprovided the assist for Merino to score the Real Sociedadgoal eight minutes into the second half. Merino was able to earn his team the share of the spoils at the end of the Group B encounter.
Monaco dropped points for the first time in the Europa League group stage this season thanks to the goal from Merino. Monaco dropped to second place on Group B as a result of the Real Sociedad draw with four points from two games. Dutch Eredivisie side PSV Eindhovenhave usurped Monaco at the top of the group standings following the impressive 4-1 away win over hosts Sturm Graz of Austria. Monaco ended the Sturm Graz clash with ten men after Ivorian midfielder Ibrahim Sangare was sent off with a minute to go for two yellow cards.
