Leroy Sane’s agent updates on attacker’s Manchester City future
The agent of Leroy Sane has said that the German attacker is attracting plenty of transfer interest from clubs outside of the Premier League. The 24-year-old has taken no part in the league campaign after the serious knee injury in the Community Shield in August 2019 but he is likely to feature for the Citizens when the season resumes after the coronavirus shutdown.
He told: “Together with him, we talk with Manchester City about what the next step could look like. The interest of Bayern Munich is no secret. But other absolute top clubs also contacted us about Leroy. Bayern is the only club in Germany that Leroy can imagine as the next step in his career. He sees there the requirements for achieving his big goal of winning the Champions League.”
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been open to parting ways with the attacker during the 2019 summer transfer window but the long-term injury meant that Sane stayed put with the club. The Citizens have endured a frustrating campaign where they have been outclassed in the title race by Liverpool and they are currently 25 points behind the Merseyside giants at the top of the table with a game in hand.
Jurgen Klopp’s side can win the league title with a maximum of six points from the next nine matches and Guardiola would still want his team to end the season on a high with the FA Cup and Champions League to play for.
