Nicolas Otamendi Believes Romelu Lukaku Is One Of The Toughest Opponents To Play Against
Manchester City centre-back Nicolas Otamendi has claimed that Barcelona’s Luis Suarez and Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku are two of the toughest opponents to play against. In an exclusive interview with Marca, he said: “There are many. Luis Suarez is a striker who is constantly moving, making diagonal runs, creating space, then you always have to be prepared to run. Then Lukaku is another very strong player, technically good, quick... It's between those two.”
Meanwhile with Argentina due to face Spain on Tuesday night, the 29-year-old was asked as to which player La Roja player he would prefer to have alongside him, and he was quick to point out to his clubmate David Silva, he added:“David Silva. He's a player who looks different, it's very difficult to take the ball off him. I'm lucky to play with him for our club. Spain has many great players, like Iniesta. Who wouldn't like having them in their team?”
Argentina are likely to be without Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi for the upcoming friendly at the Wanda Metropolitano, and they have a huge test of their hands to prove their credentials without the talismanic duo. The South American nation required a Messi hat-trick in the final qualifier game in order to make the World Cup directly, and it appears that they could once again be reliant on the Barcelona superstar to wield his magic at the global tournament.
Jorge Sampaoli’s side have been blessed with a number of young uprising talents including Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi, but unfortunately they have not able to carry their club form forward to the national stage amid the pressure of expectations. Otamendi is likely to line-up alongside Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo at the heart of the defence for Tuesday night’s friendly against the 2010 World Cup champions.
