DAVID SILVA SHOWING GLIMPSES OF WHAT GUARDIOLA IS MISSING AT SOCIEDAD
Form is temporary, class is permanent, so they say. This is the same for David Silva, who left English club Manchester City to join Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad and has since been outstanding in Spain, with a couple of mind-blowing performances for the Basque club. This comes at a period when his former club are lacking enough creativity in their team which they need to score as many goals as they have been feared for scoring in the past.
The lack of creativity in the City team will have surely forced some of the club's fans to take a sneak peek into just how Silva is faring in Spain, and they will be left biting their nails given how much they will have been missing his magical touch he was best known for during his time in the Premier League.
City are reportedly plotting to unveil a statue of El Mago, who is considered to be the joint-best player in the Etihad club's history, alongside talismanic forward Sergio Agüero. That would be a great move by the club, and of course, the fans would relish having the statue erected outside their stadium so they could often get reminded that they once had a real magician who was named David Silva and they could go on to pass on the stories to their kids in the future.
Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, along with Phil Foden have had to carry the burden of providing creativity for the team since the departure of Silva but while they have been doing a good job, it has just not been good enough.
In Silva's absence, Manchester City are averaging the worst goal-scoring ratio since Pep Guardiola took charge of the club and it has raised questions as to whether the Spanish boss should have left the midfielder leave in the summer.
