LEEDS COMPETING WITH SOUTHAMPTON FOR MIDFIELDER LIKENED TO DAVID SILVA
Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton are interested in signing James McAtee from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail. The report has claimed that Leeds and Southampton both want to sign Manchester City midfielder McAtee this summer. The youngster could be used to negotiations between Premier League champions City and Leeds over the transfer of England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Now, with City interested in Phillips, Leeds clearly have the advantage over Southampton in the race for McAtee. It's usually a big honor for young players when they get likened to former or active superstars of the game and to be likened to a player like David Silva will be a big one for the youngster. However, he has been urged to keep his head down and focus on becoming a better player so that he can continue to build a very solid foundation for a great career for himself.
With clubs hurrying to do deals as early as possible in order to get their squads ready before the start of pre-season, it remains unlikely which club will be signing the starlet this summer.
