MAN CITY CONSIDERING €100M MOVE FOR RAFAEL LEAO

According to Calciomercatoweb, Manchester City could make a €100 million move to sign Portuguese forward Rafael Leao from AC Milan. The 23-year-old has been a key player for Milan since joining the club and helped them win the Scudetto last season. Leao has started this season in impressive form as well, and he will be crucial to their ambitions. The winger has four goals and eight assists to his name in 13 appearances across all competitions. Leao has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea as well. The Blues have been long-term admirers of the player, and they tried to sign him in the summer.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea reignite their interest in Leao at the end of the season. Both Manchester City and Chelsea have the resources to pull off the signing, and it remains to be seen who comes out on top in the transfer chase. Manchester City could definitely use the wide forward next season, thus explaining the interest in Leao. They paid big money for Jack Grealish, but the former Aston Villa captain has had a disappointing time at the Etihad. Leao could make the left-wing berth his own and would add pace, flair and goals to the side.

The reported €100 million price tag seems quite steep right now. But Leao has the potential to justify the outlay in the long run. The Portuguese international has the physical and technical attributes to succeed in English football as well. The report adds that Pep Guardiola wants to add another top-class attacker to his side after signing Erling Haaland this summer. And Manchester City have identified Leao as a top target. Furthermore, the report claims that his €100 million asking price does not scare Manchester City at all.
It will be interesting to see if the Premier League champions come forward with a concrete offer when the summer transfer window opens. AC Milan will not want to sell their most important attacker midway through the season and so, a January move can be ruled out. David Silva suggests that attacker will come good at City.
