With Manchester City sitting pretty at the top of the table, David Silva can allow himself to smile. And with the new contract that is on the table for the talented Spaniard, he won't be able to stop grinning!
Having been a key player for City so far this season, the Manchester City executives have decided to reward him by offering him a bumper pay raise, increasing his salary to a whooping 200 thousand pounds per week!
City are keen to tie down the future of a player who has proved to be instrumental in their current rich vein of form, and led many punters (including me) to make a football bet that City will win the Premier League this season.
David Silva was signed from Valencia in the summer of 2010 for a total of 23 million dollars. He has managed to prove his worth and has impressed by the fans and the top officials at the club, who have gathered trust in him and hope that he continues to put on the same exhilirating performances.
City have put a lot of effort in to ensure got David Silva against the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and the other European heavyweights, and they realize that they must make a similar effort to making him stay at Eastlands.
Silva is understandably happy with the offer being made and it's believed that the new contract will be signed sooner rather than later.
