TOURE HUNGER IS BACK
Yaya Touré appears to have got his hunger back after the midfielder stated that Manchester City are very keen on reclaiming the Premier League title from Chelsea.
The Blues have never managed to win the title in back-to-back seasons. This has often been attributed towards the lackadaisical attitude of some of the important players within the squad.
Toure was a major factor in helping the club win the league title during the 2013-14 season. He was once again a factor, but this time on the losing side, in City failing to be successful in the defence of the crown.
The 32-year-old midfielder only managed to score 10 goals in 29 appearances last season. This was in sharp contrast to more than 20 goals that he managed in the previous campaign. Manchester City appear to be developing the ill-advised habit of losing the desire immediately after winning a title.
Now, though, they seem extremely motivated to become champions of England once again. The live betting on sites like StanJames make Manchester City the firm favourites to take the title.
After being linked with a move to Inter Milan throughout the summer, Touré is now keen on helping City reclaimed the English crown. The arrival of Fabian Delph from Aston Villa, though, could be a threat to his first-team spot.
“After two or three years full of competition, I needed the break but I am very happy to be back and working. We have a lot of targets. The target this year is to make his club proud because last year was quite disappointing. We want to do something big this year.
"We are looking forward to the new players coming and trying to help the club do something big. The club has been built to top this league and when we finish in second it is quite disappointing. We want to bounce back,” said the midfielder about the new season.
